Post subject: Sansung S5/S6 Phones

I run a camp of 400 users and have a problem with only Samsung S5/S6?
it connects to the wireless without a problem, but what happens after that is, the Samsung hangs and actually starts heating up. The heat is very noticeable, and nearly too hot to touch. We have to turn the samsung off to get it respond again.
We also, initialised one of our Samsung S5 to stock standard, and it still hangs and over heats as well.

the Devices we have tested it on and working are:
All Iphones/Ipads work, including the latest IOS 9.1.
All Windows/ Mac work.
Samsung 4 and below work.
Sony worked, but didnt get which version of andriod he is running.

That maybe related to Android's captive portal detection.

As a test, please add the following to your Exception Free Websites domain list, and then restart FirstSpot:

clients3.google.com

Note that login screen won't automatically popup after attaching to the AP after this change. You need to go to web browser/chrome to login to FirstSpot.

We retest using Android 4.4.4 (not Samsung phone though), and the phone works without issues.

In particular, the Android captive portal detection works correctly (without adding clients3.google.com of course). After clicking the Wi-Fi hotspot login notification at the top, we are able to login correctly via the Android stock web browser and Google Chrome.

there doesnt seem to be a problem with 4.4, that is why the Samsung S4 works.
its android 5.0 (Samsung S5/S6) that is having the problems.

Can you help us to do the following:

1) reproduce the problem (maybe you can wait for 30 seconds or so to make sure your device actually make some network queries).

2) zip and email us your firstspot_FSRedirect_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory to firstspot@patronsoft.com
