What FirstSpot version are you currently using? Are you an existing customer?

I am using the latest version of FirstSpot and I am a current customer. I am travelling now and not able to call in for support.

We have a new user with Windows 8 and is having issues with firstspot.
The user logs in but all pages is not able to load. The machine in question is a brand new machine from Acer. He is able to download microsoft updates, and perform other things when connected to the first spot wifi but he is unable to browse the internet with any browser after logging in.

It just says unable to connect/website not available.
User tried yahoo.com and google.com .

Also sometimes after logging in, the browser loads the pages but not fully.
After completing the partial load of the webpages, the machine is not able to connect to any websites anymore after that. User has to restart his machine to repeat the process above again.

Thank you.
I am performing some troubleshooting my side as well. I will update you if I find a cause.

We test IE10 (desktop version) on Windows 8 client, and it works fine.

Nevertheless, we do encounter issue seeing FirstSpot login page for IE10 (metro Win8 version), though once you login through other browser (e.g. IE10 desktop version, Chrome), everything works fine afterwards.

We will investigate the IE8 (metro win8 version) issue.

Upon further testing, we find out that once you uncheck "Enable Protected Mode" (under Internet Options -> Security), IE10 (Metro Win 8 version) will work now.

Currently, even with "Enable Protected Mode" checked, FirstSpot still works. So we are still trying to hunt down root cause of the original issue.
