Access site problems

Hey Patronsoft

After we changed connection we cant log on hotmail.com
we can see the site, but when we type in password and get redirecetet to the mails, we get an site cant be shown.

if i try from the server it works fine, have changed the MTU to 1500 on both network cards nothing i do helps.

this is the redirectet site http://du101w.dub101.mail.live.com/default.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0

We try hotmail.com by cannot reproduce your issue.

Note that FirstSpot doesn't intervene with the packets after login. Can you try to login hotmail using other browser in the client side? Also, for PPPoE connection, you might want to use MTU value 1492.

i have tried all browsers, but none of em work and its all our 500 users that have the problem, both macs and pcs. if we dont use Firstspot hotmail it works fine.

ill try and change the MTU and get back to you

Can you describe what exactly did you change (that triggers this issue)?

Also, please post the first 300 lines of your firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory.

So did you change the physical connection type (e.g. Ethernet to PPPoE)?

Please double-check the followings:

1) we need to eliminate the DNS factor. Please issue:

nslookup du101w.dub101.mail.live.com

in the client PC and post the result here

2) Your problem still look like an MTU issue. How exactly do you change the MTU? If there a router/firewall between FirstSpot and your Internet connection, you might need to change the MTU value there as well.

Definitely DNS issue.

Please make sure your FirstSpot Internet Network Interface DNS has ONLY one entry, and then restart FirstSpot. Maybe you should use DNS server in your new ISP connection.
