Post subject: Question about Captive Portal

Will PatronSoft Captive Portal technology interfere with other CP software out there?

Example: two side-by-side cafe have hotspots with cp, A has patronsoft, B has another vendor. Who will capture a customer that walks into either one of these cafes? Can Partonsoft be more superior? Another word, overrides B? Is there hardware out there that can do this function while its not possible on the software side?

Thanks for your time and consideration. Very INTERESTED IN REPLY AND SOFTWARE.

Before any captive portals can function, wireless machines will have to connect (or attach) to an wi-fi access point first. Therefore, it's an RF issue instead of an CP one. Having a good antenna with strongest possible radio signal covered in an area will probably attract your potential customers to connect to your portal first [assuming no one would really want to connect to an AP with weak signal and low transfer rate].

Also, turning off WEP and make your SSID visible to the public will also help in a hotspot environment - this makes customers connect to your hotspot easier; while the protection is offered by FirstSpot's authentication.
