Post subject: Periodic service restarts needed to make FirstSpot work

Hi,
we have FirstSpot installed at several locations for our client. Each server is installed on a new Windows XP SP3 updated machine with no other software installed. Updated disabled, no other DNS or DHCP or PHP on it. All the setup works well for several months and then starts hanging till the service is restarted manually. This causes a big deal of problems for us as the clients are traveling all around the world and it is not an easy task to come and service them very often (cruise ships). There was a concern that the problem is fixed in version 6, so we upgraded from 5 to 6 and...nothing changed. Same problem. Checked logs for the system and found a periodic identical set of errors there (see below). We urgently need your assistance in order to return our client's trust in a stable and reliable WiFi service that we provide. Thank you.

We definitely need more information on your symptoms. E.g. does nslookup or ping work?

Alternatively, you can try the upcoming v6.0.5 update which fixes several problem in DNS, DHCP and Apache. The v6.0.5 should be ready by the end of this week. We will post the latest v6 at http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download_trial.html

nslookup and ping work fine. I hope there won't be delays with this new update you mention as I am scheduled to travel across half of the globe to fix the problems Mad

Meanwhile you can ask me for any needed info. I got copies of config files right here with me.Let me know.
