Configuration Manager locks up after starting (started)

All hyperlinks still show up as hyperlinks but when clicking on them, nothing happens. This includes the restart and stop buttons. Clients can surf to google.com and patronsoft.com but the login screen does not come up even though the browser indicated the site was found.

Any help is appreciated....

Verified the nics were not having the offload problem several times before posting this. Also replaced the nic that binded to firstspot just to make sure that wasn't the problem.

Clearing the cache didn't seem to make any difference.

What i did try was killing the processes associate with firstspot (e.g. httpd's, dispatcher, firstspot core, etc.) the first time i did this and restarted firstspot, same problem. The second time, it worked. What I
noticed also was that when it worked, the message windows dispplayed "Firstspot started successfully" and the status frame said "STARTED". Prior attempts always displayed "STARTED" but never displayed started successfully in the message window. It always hung at the "firstpot is starting" message so it appears when it fails, it is never completing the startup process.

Not sure why that would make a difference but there seems to be a startup/stability issue i'm having. We are testing the trial version but are anxious to deploy this solution once we get beyond this issue.

1) reproduce your "starting" hung problem
2) post your firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log file under FirstSpot\log directory

I will. As of the last several attempts, it has been starting up and working everytime. I'll continue to monitor the log file if/when it fails again.

Strange, your first log has problem and FirstSpot is not started correctly, while your second log looks fine. Are you sure you post the correct log?

From your log, we suspect your RRAS cannot be started correctly by FirstSpot. Can you try the RRAS test stated in http://patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1191 ?

I've reloaded the OS on a clean system just to get a baseline. Now things seem to be working fine. I'm beginning to think the original system I've been using may have some underlying problem that may be causing the issue. I've tried several captive portal implementations and that may have messed something. We're going to continue testing with this implementation since it seems to be woring ok on the new system.
