Post subject: Password encryption

The default FirstSpot username's password encryption (i.e.encrypt_pwd.exe) is one-way, so you cannot really decrypt the password.

Note that the password is stored in the "pwd" field of table fsusr (see chapter 5 of firstspot_guide.pdf).

To store the password in clear text, you need to change the password encryption algorithm using the Password Offloading feature (available in Premium and Advanced Edition only). You need to turn on Password Offloading within Authentication Server category of Configuration Manager, and then specify plaintext.exe (download it at http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/plaintext.exe , save it in your FirstSpot\dispatcher directory) in the parameter "Path & filename for password offloading".
