So you've logged on succesfully I assumed, but couldn't go out to the Internet?

Are you using any PPPoE at the public interface? Or just plain ethernet line to a broadband router (which connect to the Internet)?

Can you surf the Internet on the FirstSpot machine when it's started?

Post subject: FirstSpot Machine

Yes - I can access the Internet on the Firstspot Machine. No PPoE straight to router.

Any Ideas or Tips! Routing or Something... How does system know to route 10.x.x.x to my Real Internet Gateway?

Thanks for any help

FirstHop driver should only be attached to the private interface.

Post subject: RRAS

Windows Routing and RAS service settings? Anything I need to configure there. Also what ports should my firewall open for FirstSpot to operate. I have all open now.... I like to do port filtering!

Thanks

Before starting FirstSpot, you can check whether RRAS has been set to "manual" start. If it's set to "disabled", FirstSpot will not work properly.

For the firewall between the Internet and the public interface, you simply open what ports you would like your client machines to go.

everything is set up correctly. You got it right - it should be the problem of the RRAS (i.e. the routing service).

Is your OS a freshly installed one? Most of our customers find it easier to try it on a newly installed OS.

Alternatively, we can remote login to your machine to further troubleshoot the case (say, through VNC, etc).

Post subject: No pretty old install... Hate to reload!

Hmm... Well I could setup VNC... I do have PCAnywhere running on that machine? Yeah RRAS setup... Hmmm...

Question:

I have another application I run on this box for streaming video. Now it is automatically select the 10.x.x.x network rather than my 4.x.x.x Internet Network. I there a order of selection? How does FirstSpot know to forward 10.x.x.x traffic to my 4.x.x.x Gateway? Tell me more...
