Post subject: VPN connection through FirstSpot

The main issue here is the NAT within FirstSpot. Theoretically, if the VPN is well-behaved, it should work behind any NAT router. Unfortunately, some VPNs still have problems with NAT. So please note:

1) Make sure you enable NAT-traversal in your VPN system

2) If you are using Windows built-in VPN client, please check out update like http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=818043

3) You can use the v5 new feature "Real IP Address Mapping" (under NAT). Note that this feature is available in the Premium or Advanced Edition only ( see http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/editions.html ).

4) If you still have difficulties, you might want to disable the NAT within FirstSpot. (This option is only available in the Premium or Advanced Edition. See http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/editions.html for details.) Make sure you add a return route in the next-hop router. If you still need NAT (e.g. to save IP), you can enable NAT in that router too.

Client -> FirstSpot -> Router* -> Internet

* set return route here, optionally enable NAT here
