Since patronsoft.com is in the default Exception Free Website (IP list), this test will eliminate the possibility of problem in both DNS and routing.

In that case, most likely you hit the Offloading issue. Refer to the readme.rtf (in the trial package) for more information.

You can use the below command to view your network card offloading status:

netsh interface ip show offload

Make sure you don't see the word checksum for your Visitor/Private Network Interface (i.e. network card that connects to the hotspot side)

More things to check:

1) make sure you access a http site instead of https site. For example, go to http://php.net to trigger the captive portal. The latest v8.1.xxx will support automatic captive portal detection in all of the client devices (e.g. iOS captive network support)

2) confirm that the client obtains the IP correctly. The default range should be 10.20.7.x
