Post subject: More info different brands of AP's

I have my test machine up and can log in using a Dlink DWL-900AP+.
I am also trying to set it up to work with an Orinoco AP-2500, but I can't get an IP Address with my wireless device. Is there any more info available for setting different AP's to work with FirstSpot Trial 3.1.1

The rules of thumb to setup AP to work with FirstSpot are:

1) turn off DHCP Server in the AP
2) don't use the WAN port in the AP

Note that FirstSpot will perform most of the functions, and the AP needs to only send out the Wi-Fi signal.

I found by setting the access point to a static IP and excluding that IP from Firstspots DHCP Range I was able to get going with more testing todo

Thank you. What you say about the FirstSpot DHCP Excluded IP is definitely valid.

Post subject: similar sinario... please give imput

Ok, I have this situation and would like assistance... I have a DI-624 wireless Router high output w/ a ANT24-1500 for a broadcast point, going out to 2 DWL-2700AP's on other buildings (apartment buildings) . Coming from a cable conection w/a 5/5 (5MB/s down & 5MB/s up) dedicated line, going into LAN card 1 to a computer running windows 2000 (may upgrade to 2003 server), then out to LAN 2 to the Router.

I have only paypal as an online "bank", and want to setup Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual & Yearly accounts. I'm very new to programing can someone help me or let me know if I'm setting up FirstSpot corectly?

Tim
